The Nerd Christmas One-Shot Campaign
This is where the magic happens.
ASSUME THAT A MONTH WILL PASS BEFORE THE NEXT GAME STARTS, THOUGH WE CAN FURTHER DEFINE WHAT HAPPENED IN THAT MONTH BEYOND WHAT I WRITE HERE
CHARACTER-SPECIFIC (PUBLIC) UPDATES TO POSTS/IDEAS(I will put things in curly brackets if they should be picked up at the table after the summary here):
- Each of you is dead.
- Check your new personal pages for more information on your deaths:
- Shaun/Julia/Jake, let me know if you want your own update pages.
- All of you are dead.
LUDDITES: As two of you specifically mentioned wanting to get a feel for their group dynamics, and indeed the last game ended with you having just found a statue dedicated to Rich, it will amuse you greatly to discover that there is a (smaller, abstract) statue “of” Gary as well. There are elements of both “paranoid conspiracy theorists” and “libertarian survivalists” (though not evenly split, more survivalists). Gary, I do not actually want you to retire your character, but maybe you could either buy off a Flaw or have some other positive thing occur here, as there are a few city blocks where people basically are living in the Shire with their crappy underground/sod houses and awful little gardens and hippie commune ethos, embracing the lack of technology and simplicity of post-modern (zing) life.
ANISH’S PLACE: thanks to your eerily prescient “Doomsday Prep™arations” in the earlier parts of the campaign, Anish’s House survived the nearly-two-decades since your absence remarkably well, disguised from looters with rubble (and even REDUNDANT RUBBLE) and staffed by some competent NPCs who had points spent for them (thank Lucas for that).
NEO-NORMINGTON PROPER: There is plenty more to write here, but as you figured out from a cursory glance around town, warring factions have seemingly permanently locked down different regions, though the military and the police are seemingly not (currently) besieged.
